Out of the Blue is a 1991 40’ cruiser style narrowboat with a Liverpool hull, and fitted out by her original owner (who was a carpentry teacher). She has a really good size stern deck, enclosed by a good condition pramhood, which makes this a useful additional area for warmer weather socializing or dining.
Down from the stern deck through a single door into the fixed double berth bedroom. This is fitted out in pine T&G with mahogany trim and solid oak floors (as is the rest of the boat.) There is also a pretty leaded glass cupboard over the bed, and storage under. Two good size windows (3’x1’9”) with opening hoppers make this room very light.
Down through the corridor on the starboard side to the bathroom housing a traveller pumpout loo, curtained shower cubicle, wardrobe / airing cupboard and a stylish over-counter circular ceramic basin.
The galley follows. In here there is an L shaped arrangement with the 4 burner gas hob, oven & grill, and a shoreline 12v fridge with freezer box. The Gas instant water heater is over the draining board. There is also a side hatch in the galley next to the mahogany table with two dining stools. A floor to ceiling cupboard offers some very good storage space.
The galley leads into the saloon. There is a good size sofa in here on the port side, which extends into an extra double berth (although when made up it is very close to the stove, so caution is advised against use of both at the same time).
The TV sits opposite the sofa and next to the stove, and a CD / radio player is housed against the galley wardrobe.Up from the lounge into the good size well deck, with big storage lockers under bench seats. She is a very cosy, cottagy and lovable boat.Narrowboat - Out of the Blue
